Webinar Recap: Intro to the Sterling Trader Pro Platform

Sterling Trader Pro is a popular platform for advanced stock and options trading. In a recent webinar, we reviewed how to use and set up many of the common features that traders use on a daily basis.

Some of the highlights of the webinar included:

Customizing the Layout

The Sterling Trader Pro platform allows traders to customize their layout, enabling them to set up multiple watch lists, charts, and level 2 screens so they can see the data most relevant to them. A trader can save and load their layout, and even have different layouts depending on their trading style or whether they are on a desktop or laptop. Sterling Trader Pro provides all the regular features that a trader would expect from an active day trading platform, plus numerous advanced trading tools.

Level 2, Charts and Order Entry

It’s simple to link a level 2, charts and order entry making navigating the platform and executing orders easy. There are buttons to buy, sell, and short stock, right within the order entry window with drop-down menus for all the order routes available, order types and order time/duration. This webinar walked through a demo of the trading platform, providing traders with an idea of what they would expect from the live platform and what is currently available.

Advanced Charting Studies and Indicators

One of the features that Sterling Trader Pro is best known for is the availability of many advanced charting studies and indicators. Traders can use charts to draw trend lines, including Fibonacci retracements, these may help analyze market data and develop a trading strategy. Fibonacci retracements are used to identify possible price reversal points when trading.

Setting Up Hot Keys

Many traders appreciate having hot key functionality to get in and out of trades more quickly. If a trader is not sure how to set them up, there are a few defaults that they may find useful and it’s also simple to add new hot keys. It’s possible to set up the hot keys so a confirmation window is displayed, or an order goes live immediately. During this webinar, we walk through how to set up a hot key on the Sterling Trader Pro platform.
